Formal Complaint Regarding Absa Home Loans – Unacceptable Service and Misrepresentation

To Whom It May Concern,

I am compelled to lodge this formal complaint against Absa Home Loans in relation to the egregiously poor service, lack of transparency, and misrepresentation concerning my home loan account.

Despite multiple requests for clarification, Absa has failed to provide a satisfactory explanation as to where, in the documentation I purportedly signed, there exists any authorization for the actions they claim are permitted. This constitutes a grave breach of fiduciary responsibility and a failure to provide the transparency and disclosure mandated under both contractual and regulatory standards.

Moreover, I have repeatedly received documents asserting, and I quote, “as agreed”, with respect to amendments made to my home loan account. Let it be unequivocally stated that I never provided consent to any such modifications. Upon requesting the purportedly signed forms substantiating this alleged agreement, I have received no response, nor any evidence whatsoever. This lack of accountability and utter disregard for the contractual rights of a client is wholly unacceptable and patently unprofessional.

The customer service rendered by Absa in this matter is nothing short of abysmal. Communications have been ignored, delayed, or rendered unhelpful, reflecting systemic deficiencies that are both intolerable and legally questionable. It is unconscionable that a financial institution of Absa’s stature would subject a client to such obfuscation and procedural neglect.

In light of the foregoing, I demand immediate and comprehensive rectification of this matter, including:

A full explanation, with documentary evidence, of where and how I allegedly agreed to the purported amendments to my home loan.

A formal acknowledgement and correction of any errors or misrepresentations made by Absa in relation to my account.

A clear outline of measures Absa will take to ensure that such gross mismanagement and dereliction of duty does not recur.

Failure to address this matter promptly and adequately will compel me to escalate this complaint to the Banking Ombudsman and any other relevant regulatory authority. I trust that Absa will take the gravity of this complaint seriously and respond without further delay
