Foerever waiting for a paid up letter...

I settled my Absa credit card recently- I then called in to request a paid up letter- I was informed it would take 24 hours. This time has come and gone and I am still waiting- call again the next day to escalate and was told I would get it within an hour. 3 Hours passed so I went to an Absa branch to see if couldn't get it done quicker myself, consultant there told me they are working on the request and that I would get it by the end of the day..... needless to say, it is the end of the day and I am still waiting. Why do I need it so badly you ask? I have a home loan application pending and all that is required is this letter.. I mean really- how long can it really take? Ridiculous service.
