Feeling the heat in ABSA branch due to my ancestory

I would like to complain about a recent experience that left me flabbergasted to say the least. Had a experience of being called a ****** and a reminding me of the " Apartheid" days just because of my skin colour and possibly my beard( cancer awareness for my fellow men). The security guard did not help, in fact he enjoyed the show as much as the next.

I went to a local branch to get my newly replaced debit card from Absa(18/11/2017), a lovely lady behind the counter was very kind, and had a good chat with her regarding her pregnancy and exchanged some tips on families, no problems due to colour, race or religion at all.

But come today( 20/11/2017), asking the branch manager about my card not working and showing "declined" at most till points, seems like it is a card issue, nevertheless, she directed me to stand outside the queue and wait for assistance as she would rather fix a long outstanding problem so to say, " working with customers 101".

As I was being helped again by the same lady from Saturday, a woman from the queue behind me, started swearing at me and accusing the lady behind the desk of helping me since I was white. That the days of apartheid is gone and I was a ****** and a lot of Zulu words. The security guard, being a Zulu man as well, did not say a work to defuse the situation, and the pregnant Absa employee was looking stressed and asked me to please go back of the queue as she did not want stress near her time.

The other employees,( one white lady, Indian lady) also ignored what is happening and left me hearing all sorts of nonsense about whatever happened in the past was due to me being there now, which I found unnecessary. I remained quiet as that would just cause a flame-up. It did look like the lady from the queue went to the manager, as she walked away and came back a minute or two later.

I have seen many of their kin push past them in stores, queues etc. But never have I felt that a business that is based on customer service not being able to do something, and me being victimized for being a loyal ABSA client since I could remember.

I am asking myself, why should I bank with a company that does not protect its customers against onslaughts like I have experienced. It puts a bad taste in the mouth and I wish I could forget it, but I cannot.

I need answers on how this can be rectified so that NO-ONE is a victim, regardless of race, religion and culture.
