Fasle Information

Absa sent me an SMS that stated I qualified for an upgrade to a high-security debit card, in this SMS they stated that it was free and that I should visit my nearest ABSA branch within 30 days.

I went to Absa in Potchefstroom today and after waiting in a queue for about ten minutes the person at the enquiries desk told me that I need to pay R120.00 for my new card, and I need to have proof of residence.

The proof of residence I can understand, but while the SMS said it would be free, I still would need to pay for my card.

So, Absa, please refrain from sending false information to your customers.
