False payment history affecting credit record
Absa incorrectly reported my loan account (30*9*57*76) as unpaid. Despite my debit orders being successfully collected in April and December 2023, and June 2024, my loans are reflected as unpaid with credit bureaus. I spent numerous hours following up on this issue with Absa last year which was not rectified, with the last straw being a further incorrectly reported "missed payment" in March this year. My assumption is the issue has something to do with the debit order date falling on a weekend or public holiday, and a system gremlin on their end. I've supp**** them evidence that the debit order had been collected on the next working date with a current paid up letter. I don't know what else to do to have these incorrectly reported missed payments removed from my credit score.
I previously left a review in June where a CRM (Russel) was assigned. The following are some of the issues I have with the current situation, and the lack of feedback and resolution of the problem:
1. My account has incorrectly reflected as in arrears 5 times since 2022, and there has been no indication that detective actions have been taken to identify the root cause (despite me providing information to assist with this), and correct them. I've since received a detailed loan statement from another consultant clearly indicated a history of payments collected on time. I’ve spent considerable time in communicating this to Absa in May last year via email and several phone calls, and the fact that it’s still a recurring issue shows little intent to fully resolve the issue. My credit score has been negatively impacted by an ABSA issue, and may have no choice to seek assistance from the ombudsman. 2. While cognisant that Russel mentioned the historical credit bureau may take some time to be corrected, the main purpose of my last email to him was to do with the latest instance of ‘non-payment’. It gives me very little confidence that the problem has been or will ever be resolved, and as mentioned in my last phone call with Russel - my fear was that the root cause of the problem hasn’t been addressed. 3. Russel's attitude in dealing with the original complaint has come across as simply wanting to tick a box to close the case as quickly as possible, without actually addressing the problem. I mentioned in the call that I was hesitant for Russel to close the case, as the actions taken were simply to correct past payment records without preventing it from recurring again. Additionally, there would be a delay in confirming that the fix had been completed on historical records, and yet ABSA still went ahead and closed the ticket without any confirmation that the new report reflected the fix (which it hasn't).
