My dad passed away in February this year he had a policy with absa life one for him and one for my mom which would pay out 10.000 each. they paid out his share of 10.000 I then had to do a continuation for my mother in order for her to get her share of the remaining 10.000.I did just that but when they sent me the forms we ticked the column where we wanted the policy to be 20.000.I sent the forms back the consultant told me that the 20.000 would be 10.000 from my dads policy and the other 10.000 would be my mums policy which would mean I would get 20.000 all together. I then asked what would I do when I claim they said I have to fill in two claim forms which would pay 10.000 each I did all this in march. My mother passed away on the 30th of July this year I went to absa we did two claims as I was told. When absa life recived these forms they told me that I could only get 10.000.I asked why they said because its a continuation of my dads policy and my mum still has a waiting period. I told them your consultant never told me all this she said I would get 20.000 if anything happens to my mother. they have recordings when I was told all this even one of there consultants admitted it.
