False debt review

I opened up an account with absa a few years back , but because of my work I was unable to use their western union system to transfer my money so I had to switch , the account was then left open and not closed which then ran up som bank charges which I was unaware of , I then app**** for a credit card with them a few days back and was told by the head office that I was approved and that there was 0.01% chance of the application being declined , I went into the tokai branch on Tuesday to hand in my documents, apon doing that I was told I have an outstanding balance on the account I thought was closed that I need to pay , I then got the details and made payment , I was told by the consultant that I should then come back on Friday ( today ) i went in this morning , and immediately was told they did not receive any payment and I proceeded to make the payment again , after making the payment and then receive proof of payment, I was immediately told I was declined for the credit card application, after that the consultant ayden jacobs then proceeded to apply for a loan instead , after filling in the information i was told that is was declined due to me being under debt review, bare in mind i have zero accounts , i have zero loan or credit cards to my name so being under debt review was not making sense I'm completely in a stat of confusion as I was then told that on my name is now showing multiple applications which was not made by me.
