**** proof of payment (****)

I sold a device for R5700. The person sent me proof of payment 2days ago but the money has not reflected into my account, I went to the branch and they said there is nothing that they could do. I needed that money to pay for registration fees and now its all gone. I only needed the bank to verify whether the payment was a **** or what.
