Failure to update account balance and details with credit bureau`s

I have paid up my vehicle finance account in January 2019. I have send the paid up letter several times to *** as instructed by the attorney and still they have not updated my credit status. It is still showing that the account is active and i am owing a balance of R49 897. How is this possible? Does it really take 9 month to update account details with the credit bureau?
