Failed ABSA rewards

<p>I would just like to share an experience i had this weekend trying out a service i thought worked but apparently doesnt: ABSA rewards.</p> <p>I’ve been paying every month for my ABSA rewards and decided, after finding out that ABSA rewards offers 50% off movies at Nu Metro cinemas, I’ll go to the movies with my wife. <br />The ABSA website states: Receive 50% upfront discount on movie tickets at Nu Metro cinemas nationwide. Members are entitled to the following upfront discounts every calendar year: 12 tickets for standard 2D and 3D movies; 2 tickets for VIP screening; 2 tickets for Xtreme screening.</p> <p>So I log into my ABSA banking and prepare to purchase 2 tickets for Xtreme screening, for me and my wife… Only to find out there is no option for Xtreme screening available. Only 2d standard and 3d. After calling Nu Metro, they indicate that I must do this in-store.</p> <p>At this point we drive to Nu Metro Canalwalk and prepare to purchase the tickets, only to find out that the R120 ticket that the ABSA website states ‘Receive 50% upfront discount on movie tickets at Nu Metro cinemas’… Is R100 per person, not R60 with my points. Not only that, the system and attendee could not get my ABSA points to work and I had to pay full price for both tickets.</p> <p>The website lies and is misleading and the system doesn’t work. Why do I pay a monthly fee for a system that doesn’t work? I ended up paying R240 for tickets that, according to the official ABSA website, should have cost me R120. Unacceptable.</p>
