Extremely poor Banking Safety
An unauthorised debit order for R105 went off the account. For a pensioner this is a lot of money. ABSA have reverted with the following message: We will reverse the debit order for you at a cost of R40 for the transaction. It is not our fault and we cannot be held responsible. They add that no signatures or authorisations are neccessary for a debit order and it could well happen again.
