Our loan is under debt review since 2010 and we were advised us that we should not respond to any statements and that all excessive interest charged will be corrected upon finalisation of the debt review court order - now that I am trying to make our last payment we discovered that ABSA charged excessive interest on the loan. R43142.96 interest was charged on an original loan with principal debt of R16 420!!! Therefore the <br> current outstanding balance exceeds the principal debt even after five years of regular payments amounting to R37464.90. Upon further investigation I found that the interest calculated when changing the term of the loan on 24/12/2010 is in clear violation of the In Duplem Rule according to the National Credit Act. I have tried phoning the call centre which did not help as I was told that it is interest due to a change in the term of the loan. I have sent an e-mail and only received an automated response - Your ticket number is: [#ID: 96706a44-9IAB-R5Pv-F1IU-bsIcUoEBOUfO#]. I have not been responded to and according to my calculations I have overpaid on this loan. I want this sorted as I do not want any further negative payments attached to my credit record
