Do you headhunt your customer support agents from State Owned Enterprises
Absa, you never cease to amaze me with your shocking customer support. It seems like the only way to get a response from you is to go to social media because you systematically ignore every other form of communication.
I complained on Hellopeter less than a month ago (22 March - yes, our interactions here are very regular because the only thing you appear to be adept at is incompetence). My query was responded to and and commitment was given for resolution by the 29th March. On the 13 April (in case you didn't realise, this is 2 weeks late), your "Specialist Case Manager: Social Media" haphazardly sent me an email and closed the case. The only thing that was special about her was her inability to understand the issue and therefore miss the solution completely. It seems like your staff are so inept that even simple principles like "phone the person to discuss what the problem is" and "follow up at the end to make sure that the problem is actually addressed" are quite beyond this "special" individual (although I've had a similar experience from everything from Absa stockbroking [amazement when I phoned them and my query from 3 months prior was still open] to private banking [outright lies]) The only thing that's keeping me with Absa at the moment is the difficulty in getting to SARS to change my banking details there. Once the pandemic passes, I'm out. I cannot deal with your useless staff anymore, it just wastes too much of my time.
So let me explain the problem clearly because it appears you cannot be bothered to clear it up with me and the only way to deal with you is like a 3 year old:
You requested proof of insurance for my home because I have a homeloan with you (and one of your useless staff decided to delink my insurance despite nothing changing). As per the original email dated 11 March, I needed to issue proof to ***. I did this on the 11 March (amazing I know but there are people with the capacity to respond timeously). There was no response. I followed up on the 16th March and reissued it. Again, no response. I complained on the 22 March (see preamble). I was then told that nothing had been received and was told to instead issue it to *** which I did. Guess what, no response. I tried contacting your "special" person. Amazingly, no response. All I have is the threat that you will take out insurance on my behalf if I don't respond. It appears that threats are the way you treat your paying clients. This is why you lost 200 000 retail clients last year. All I want (yes, this is exceedingly simple but appears to be beyond your staff), is confirmation that all is in order (and it should be because nothing has changed since the last time you vetted my insurance policy except for the standard yearly increase).
I have been explicit. I cannot explain any further. Failing this, I'll just close my home loan (which has an outstanding balance of 1c) and brave a trip to SARS.
