Do NOT use ABSA as your WILL executor!! Please do your research first.

My late mother had passed in October 2021. This is now more than a year later and the estate is still not registered or the executor appointed. To get any feedback from ABSA is a challenge. I had to do ALL the paperwork and so far ABSA had one task, to register the estate. I would strongly advise that before you take your will to ABSA that you do your research. They are at best pathetic. One would think that in a time of bereavement, ABSA would at least try to do their part, but sadly not. To try and contest the executor later on is a legal process and ABSA being a corporate does not care for you and me. They have the financial backing and once you signed the will appointing ABSA as the executor, yes, your are at their mercy. They just do not care what precarious situation the inheritors finds themselves in with properties that needs to be upkept and car licenses kept paid up. They sit behind their desks and believe me your are just another number and source of income to ABSA. The sad thing about it all i that you and me can not change anything, ABSA will find some excuse if you are lucky, but more often just plain ignore the outcries of their clients soon to be ex-clients. Hope that by posting this grievance, there will be more (in the masses) that will add their voice of frustration. Maybe then a big corporate will listen when their income declines.

ABSA would like to close the case due to not enough info. I have provided the ABSA estate ref number as part of the info required when writing a review. If ABSA did just a bit of due diligence, they would have noted that they received all the info required to investigate the complaint. The time ABSA took to explain their excuse most probably took longer than to check the estate ref number with their estate department. Maybe they have the same issue than me as a client to find someone to respond in the estate department.

Even after I explained to ABSA that the info was supp**** they insist on the information that resides with them. I further requested ABSA to phone me should they have any difficulties reading the info. Further to this I rep**** to their email on the 17th as well as resend another email in response to their reply, today. I have now once again provided the ABSA Estate Ref Number to them, seriously! This seems to be an automated response by a robot that cannot read. This once again shows how ABSA bluntly deals with their clients. Instead of doing a bit of follow up with their own department, they rather insist in passing the ball. ABSA please refer to my email dated today in response to the email sent the 17th. If you do not understand your own systems and reference numbers, I will gladly assist.
