DO NOT GET HOME OWNERS INSURANCE FROM ABSA!

I bought my house through ABSA in 1996. For 24 years I have paid the annual home owners insurance and have only claimed once for a burst geyser. This year for the first time since I can remember I received a copy of the home owners insurance policy. A few weeks later there was a storm and the shade netting was ********** my carport. I checked my policy and realised with a shock that they do not even insure the total bond amount and for a ridiculous price. My husband's insurance is cheaper and his house in insured for 7 x times the amount! Just to add insult to injury they have also declined to pay the claim because if you wade through 11 pages of small print you will find that shade netting is an exclusion on this ridiculously expensive insurance. IF YOU HAVE HOME OWNERS INSURANCE WITH ABSA, CHECK YOUR POLICY AND GET OTHER QUOTES!!
