DO NOT DO YOUR WILL AT ABSA, DO NOT MAKE THEM EXECUTOR

Absa as an executor of estates has a different understanding of customer service and communication. How they twist our parents to make them executors puzzles me. At a rate of 3.5% fee charge for execution they fail at communicating.

Its been a month my mother has passed. I go to a branch 07.05.2022 so they can send the documents required, not all but initial documents. No response, no automated email nothing. I decide to call the 086 number on the 11.05.2022. The lady answering on the other hand grills me for the email address the documents were sent to. I mention that it's the absa intake email. Then the problem is if am certain of the email besides me mentioning that this was done at an absa branch. She eventually decides to ask for my mother's ID and only to find email was received. This is a painful time, but absa is failing me and my family already, thinking of the journey until the estate is done. In any relationship, communication is key, empathy is important for this particular department, but I'm questioned for an email address, meaning they don't even trust their branches to know internal processes or contacts. If your parent/s opt for absa's will, they must not make them the executor. Dissatisfied. Dissapointed
