Do not but Electricity Tokens with ABSA
Do not buy electricity tokens with ABSA.
I usually buy my pre-paid electricity tokens with ABSA. But today I spent R1000, it deducted R 1000. But when you look at the detail it only did R 500. Then did a 2nd time for R 2000, deducted R 2000 but in detail was provided R 1900.
Now I understand systems have glitches, problems. Now I called into the Absa call center explained, they say they only see R 1000 and R 2000, they can not see the detail. But note I am looking in my ABSA app and can see the detail, so they are serving and displaying the detail. So already now it is ridiculous that I can see more than they can.
S ABSA opened case number for me. They said someone will call me and resolve this.
Few hours later get sms that Athaliah is looking into my case, then get sms later that to resolve I must call muncipality, Then a few minutes later a sms saying case was closed. Sincerely Athlaliah.
I call municipality and they say I must resolve with ABSA or their service provider. Now this is what makes my blood boil, do not offer a service if you can not service me. Do not create a case to investigate and not call me to resolve it properly.
This is not the first time I have probelms with ABSA> Beginning of the year had random debit orders coming off my account, after hello peter poster and many mails eventually got debit order consent forms and was not me. But even then they didn't correct, reverse teh transaction, re-imburse. They will just investigate.
So my advice to all is bank with other banks. My banking activity has and will continue to decrease with ABSA!
They just do not know how to handle and investigate issues. Just pass the buck IN BOTH INSTANCES.
ABSA has reached out to me, i have had to send actual pictures to show the problem. After investigation on their side they cam back and have shown that there is a new monthly levy of R 200 introduced, so R200 per month you must pay as a levy. A bit annoying, but this is not on ABSA side.
I would like to thank Basani for investigating and looking into it and coming back with a proper answer. This is all I wanted from the beginning when I first queried the short fall in units.
I would also advise that ABSA in future show this admin fee breakdown else many will have the same query.
Thanks
