DO NOT BANK WITH ABSA.

If I could give a negative star review I would.

This chatwallet nonsense is terrible. After receiving notification of a cashsend, I went into the Whatsapp conversation which we are now FORCED to engage with to confirm that I indeed wanted the money that was sent to me. In what universe does that make sense? If someone sends me money, YES I WANT THE MONEY!

Anyway, after confirming that I want the money, I was told that I will receive a withdrawal number via sms. my first thought was "why didn't i get the withdrawal number in the first place like it used to be?" I did not in fact get that sms for whatever reason so I thought I had to in fact sign up for the chat wallet (An ABSA product which I DO NOT WANT from a bank I DO NOT WANT TO ENGAGE WITH) in order to get my money. After signing up, I found out that the cashsend was not there. After this, I went to the branch only to be told it would take 24 hours to reflect - It has now been 3 days and the money is still not there and I still do not have a reference number or withdrawal number to get my money.

The sour cherry on the bitter cake that is a HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE is that because I initially chose "withdraw", the person who sent me the cashsend can't even cancel this one and send me a new one.

If you bank with ABSA, bless your heart because I have no idea why anybody would!
