Do not appoint Absa as your executor of your will

Please avoid appointing Absa as your executor at all cost, my mother inlaw passed on on the 5th of Jan 2021, the family then approached Absa and advised them that because there was no funds in the account they would like to appoint a private lawyer to handle the estate, they were then given a number from Maureen who works at the Absa branch in Strand, when we tried calling the number we kept on getting transferred and the calls kept on ringing, on the 1st of September I approached Maureen again and explained to her that the family is just not getting hold of anyone who is able to assist them with this, Maureen then emailed Lebogang as she was assigned to the estate and also got no reply back only after a few days she came back and Said Franklin is assigned to the Estate, on the 8th of September Franklin only rep**** and said that we will be provided with a letter from Absa confirming the renunciation, we have consulted with private lawyers and not even the lawyers can get feedback from Absa, this is horrible service from Absa's end and I will not recommend Absa to anyone.
