Dissatisfaction on reviewed Bond interest rate

Good day,

I bought a house in September 2017 which was approved by Absa for the full amount, but the property was not in a very good condition. I had to renovate the entire house, except for the kitchen that was not needed. I requested for a reduction in my interest rate seeing that I spent so much on the property and an evaluation was done on the property on 23/01/2018. I paid a deposit on the property of just over 10%, and was approved for a interest rate of prime minus 0.05% which I was not happy with at the time, but accepted it anyway as I wanted all my banking matters under one roof. After the evaluation was done and submitted Absa came down with interest rate by only 0.25% making it prime minus 0.30% in total which I think does not justify what the renovations has done to improve ABSA's property and increasing the loan to value of property significantly. I strongly believe that ABSA could have at least approved prime minus 0.50% or better on this property.

I need you to please refer this matter to senior management within your interest rate department at Absa Home Loans to improve on current interest rate.

Your assistance in this regard is highly appreciated.

Reviewer Update
Received a call from a lady on 31/01/18 from +***. Who referred my complaint to the interest rate department for a review, who came back to her in literally a few seconds from her submitting the request. I've never seen such speedy response received from a rate department, which makes me think it was never referred. She kept on saying MBR approved -0.30% and nobody can override the systems recommendation. The banking industry is really being taken over by computer systems and gone are the days when a senior manager can override a decision and give a client a fair interest rate. All I'm asking is to at least approve MBR of -0.50% as the loan to value has increased substantially since the renovations was done to property. Please refer to someone else and not the same department who called me on 31/01/2018.
