Dissatisfaction about handling of deceased estate

Subject: Complaint: Delay in Processing Deceased Account Claims

Dear Hello Peter,

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the handling of my late relative’s account at Absa Bank.

Nomakhalati Irene Luthuli, a dear family member, tragically passed away on November 5th, 2023. Her death was registered as natural death, adding complexity to an already difficult situation. Among her assets were accounts with Absa Bank, including a Savings and Fixed Deposit account.

As I am assisting the appointed executor, by the name of Nosipho Luthuli, she promptly submitted all required documents for the transfer of funds from Ms NI Luthuli’s accounts( deceased) to Nosipho’s account number( daughter) by November 14th, 2023. At that time, she was informed that the process would take approximately 60 working days to complete.

Following the specified period, she diligently followed up on 20/02/2024 during which a reference number (C***9) was provided, and was advised to wait an additional two weeks for the process to finalize. However, despite the extended wait, there has been no positive response or progress in the claim.

This prolonged delay in transferring the funds is causing significant distress and inconvenience to the beneficiaries of Ms. Luthuli’s estate as they borrowed money for the funeral preparations. We have patiently adhered to the timeline provided by Absa Bank but have yet to see any tangible results.

Therefore, I kindly request your intervention in resolving this matter swiftly and efficiently. Any assistance or guidance you can provide to expedite the process and ensure the rightful transfer of funds would be greatly appreciated. Nosipho Luthuli’s contact details are as follows in the case where Absa bank would like to explain further: Line 1: *** Line 2: ***

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I eagerly await your prompt response and resolution.

Sincerely, [Ntsikelelo Ngibe]***] [Email: ***]
