Displeased by ABSA Bank with Unauthorized Debit Orders

its been almost a year now since I have been struggling with this unauthorized debit orders going into my account. I have been complaining to Absa for ever now but seem as if my crying is falling on deaf ears..

In June Absa responded and asked me to go to a branch to sign forms that would prohibit these companies from debiting my account any further. I went to a branch at my own cost and signed forms as required, but to my surprise....the very same companies debited my account again for the previous 2 or 3 month. And according to the bank, this is quite simple, if i want a debit order cancelled, i can just walk into a branch and request a reversal and i have been doing that but the problem is the fee they charge to reverse these debit orders that were not authorized by me, and usually my Authorized debit orders run by mid-month (15th) as i get paid by then and this unauthorized debit order comes month end where else sometimes i do not have funds in my account; meaning those debit orders bounce then i have to pay charges for them which is more than the debited amount sadly. So yes, Absa is dragging their feet in getting all this resolved because they are making a ton of money from charging money to reverse these transactions and for unpaid debit orders, another thing is that this unpaid debit orders affect my credit score.

How easy is it to have a bogus company submit a debit order request on your account at Absa? Well the answer to that; it is very easy and Absa seems to not have any systems in place to verify anything and they have even failed me after they requested me to come sign forms to officially stop these companies from deducting money from my account but nothing is happening all they say is 'they still implementing'.

I have lost all faith in absa as a bank and their ability to safeguard their client's accounts and it is absolutely shocking for a brand this big maybe its time i moved to another bank...
