DISHONEST/INADEQUATE HOME LOAN NIGHTMARE

To whom it may concern, My parents (pensioners) have been summoned to the high court for outstanding arrears on their bond in December 2020. After appearing in court, the judge granted them four months (4) grace to pay up the arrears. After the court hearing, we made a large sum payment in December 2020 and to our surprise, a large sum of the monies was paid towards legal costs. We then requested a full breakdown of the legal costs as well as the total arrears to date (excluding the principle debt). Attempts were and are still being made to try and settle out of court as we are trying our best to pay up the arrears and save our parent's property. Instead, we have been shoved from pillar to post. Eventually one of the legal consultants finally found the legal consultant to liaise with regarding our requests. We have been sending her our enquiries, instead, she responds to the legal consultant who referred us to her. Without any direct response from her, she advises him that legal action will proceed. Our attempts made via email or telephonically with Absa are unacceptable and frustrating as we are trying to save our parents property. We have lodged a complaint to the Absa complaints department as well? We feel that Absa is not as transparent enough or assisting our parents in saving the property other than to auction the property. We are deeply disappointed with the service and feel that Absa has no interest in their client. (WITHOUT PREJUDICE).
