Dishonest financial advisor Rita Pillai

Firstly I must say I have been very happy with ABSA banking services. I had my first home loan approved in 2017 and I took a life policy with ABSA insurance. I had such good banking service so I trusted ABSA life for an insurance policy. It was my first life policy and I was inexperienced. I feel my financial advisor used this to take advantage of me. I queried my premiums increase and the policy value and wasn’t happy with what I was receiving so I took out another policy with another institution for less than half of what I’m paying now. When I phoned my financial advisor to inform of cancellation of policy and query if any of my premiums would be paid back. Instead of telling me the procedure for cancellation she tells no you will not get any money back that’s the carrot we dangle. This is to to state her words exactly. So am I the donkey for biting this carrot. Is this what we get from people we trust our money with. I’m a nurse who works very hard to make a living. It’s become even tougher now in this economy. This is why I queried my policy increases in the first place. I managed to get a better deal and wanted to know how to cancel my policy only to be told this is the carrot we dangle. Really. I feel Rita Pillai only had her best interest when issuing me with this policy. She also is unprofessional to equate my inexperience and naïveté to a donkey. So in Rita Pillai eyes I’m the donkey who bit the carrot and got suckered into a lousy deal because of my naïveté. So disappointed. Is this what we pay our hard earned money for. How many other times was this told to unsuspecting people like myself. I only want to warn future clients with similar circumstances as mine dnt fall into same trap. I may not get my hard earned money back but I will make sure others dnt be fooled as I was. Really poor standards from ABSA insurance.
