Disgusted with ABSA and yet I am a new customer. Cant get better then this

My Experience with you guys have been horrific and I must honestly say that I will never ever refer anyone to bank with you guys.

I had opened my account in June if not May 2017. I do stand corrected by that information provided.

My 1st sour taste of ABSA was when I had gone into the bank to try and open a new Cheque Account with you guys at your Southgate Branch. I was then told that I am unable to do so due to the plastic sheet on my ID that was slightly loose. I was then told by the consultant that I must 1st go and make myself a new ID and only then I can come and apply again. After asking him basically something like 4 times why he cannot open the account he refused to answer my question and just kept telling I should go and make a new ID then come back to open the account.

I decided to leave the branch in a very very angry manner with the feedback I had received from your consultant. I decided to give ABSA another chance. I then decided to apply online where they had requested me to send through a payslip and also my ID Document as well as my proof of residence in which I had sent all.

Everything was sent through and I awaited feedback wanting to know when the account would be opened.on the 25 April 2017 stating that I must please collect the my new card from you guys. I was happy when i Received the sms and willing to look past the bad service I had received from the Branch because they atleast made it happen by opening the account for me. When going into the Branch again at Southgate because that is where i wanted my card to be delivered to. I was advised by a customer Services consultant that my card is not there and the account has not yet been opened. I was now beyond furious because now I was sent an sms and waisted money to just go into the bank and be told my account has not yet been opened and they do not know why that sms was sent and to make matters worse the consultant picked up on the system that there was 2 Cheque Accounts on my name that reflected and apparently they were opened a day after each other. Now why exactly would I want to Cheque Accounts when I am struggling to actually just open one.

Eventually the account was opened and I received the Card some time in May. I decided on the 5 June 2017 to change my banking details with my HR at work which was done.

Guess what the Sad part is now, this month was the 1st month for me using my ABSA Cheque Account and I am unable to withdraw my money that was deposited into this account. Because there is a Proof of Residence which apparently was not loaded onto the system. Now when I opened this account all these details were sent through thus the reason why the account has been opened because if that was not supp**** the consultant would not have opened it without that documents. Debit orders have now been rejected because the account cannot be accessed.

What ****ed me of the most was when I had gone to the Branch at Southgate the customer Services consultant that helped me said that the card has been unblocked and that I can use it but walking out of the Branch straight to the ATM I had the exact same problem I had the 1st time "transaction declined. please visit your nearest branch for assistance". Requesting for a manager thereafter they referred me to a white lady by the Name of ELSIE which is the 1st desk that you come to after your help desk and she still had the nerve to ask me if i have another bank account opened with another bank as I must go and get a bank statement from that Bank and come back to them and hand it in, thereafter it will be pending in a queu of emails. Do you guys want to tell me that the lady at Customer Services could not pick up that there was a problem with the account while supposedly unblocking the card or account. She was at Counter 13.

My wife and I do our shopping on the weekend after Pay Day and I could not do jack**** because ABSA's staff online and in the Branch are so *********** beyond measure.

I would like to now ask you to please transfer my salary into my Capitec account and close the Cheque Account that I was so proudly looking forward to using down.

I want nothing more to do with your bank and will not refer anyone to your bank because of my 1st hand experience.

Please do not ask me to supply you with any documents because I dont want to supply you with anymore as all was handed to you a long time ago. If they had not received the Documents how did they open the account in the 1st place.

Feel free to call me on ********** 423

Email me - Bradley **********

I eagerly await the person that deals with this queries reply as I can tell you now it will not be a please conversation due to ABSA's Incompetence and Unruly attitute towards customers.
