Disappointing service

This is honestly the worst bank ever. I requested to close my bank account and was told I had to pay over R400 just to close it.

I opened a private account during a campaign where the first 12 months were free, so I wasn’t required to pay monthly fees. My account only became active in December 2025, before then, whenever I deposited money, the funds would bounce back.

Yet, for some reason on 1 August 2026, I was charged the monthly account fee. When I then requested to close the account, I was also charged a pro-rata fee for the period up until the closure date.

I honestly don’t understand how these charges are justified, especially considering the account was only active from December 2025. Extremely disappointing.
