Difficulty in understanding being declined for a credit card increased.

I currently have a credit card with Absa. My repayments should be R350.00 a month yet I do a debit order for R1000.00. I app**** for a credit increase and was declined due to affordability. When I mentioned to the lady that assisted me I am paying R650.00 more than my installments yet you declining me due to affordability where is the logic in that. She said sorry there is nothing she can do I should try again in 6 months time.
