Different work ethics and business practices at ABSA
Using ABSA online banking APP so I got a message “you might qualify for a credit card limit increase” okay so I apply on line. Received sms about a week later fifteen September “Unfortunately your request for a limit increase on your Absa credit card has been declined. For enquiries contact ***. FSP/NCRCP7” I respond to the sms “ No problem Capitec obliged” The next day I go into my ABSA online banking app and noticed my credit card limit had been increased notwithstanding the sms from Absa above stating it has been declined. So I send ABSA an email requesting a decrease of the credit card limit as Capitec had already obliged. I at the same time requested the cancellation of my overdraft and must be honest and give credit to Adelene Golden Junior Risk Specialist Private Bank Relationship Banking Risk T +***4 E ***ca whom cancelled and confirmed on the same day of my request why she is still a junior risk specialist at Absa private bank only ABSA will know. This is the caliber of staff that’s lacking in businesses in South Africa 🇿🇦 today hence the decline of business ethics and practices. Adelene should be in a management position at ABSA based upon her work ethic but in today’s business both government and private sector it’s a matter of NOT “what you know but who” Coming back to the reduction of my credit card limit it’s now more than two weeks and my credit card limit has still not been reduced as requested. Unfortunately this function lies not within the responsibility of Adelene but another hopeless division with poor leadership within ABSA. Same bank but totally different work ethics and practices. Must be different training programs within ABSA, Adelene having attend training from a professional those in credit card division most probably from a thirty percent pass rate candidate.
