I am beyond tired of Absa bank. I was made redundant on 31 July 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. I informed Absa of this, as I did all my debtors/accounts. Absa just plainly refused to assist me with my home loan and vehicle finance, as I wouldn’t be able to make continuous payments until I am employed. An Absa representative told me they’ll help me sell my car and if I don’t pay they’ll take my home. HOW is this help!?? I am now almost 8 months unemployed.
I make payments towards all of my Absa accounts as best I can with aid from friends and family, only for me to be on my way home on Friday 12/03 with some lady from Absa, Elize Van Wyk, waiting for me because my vehicle finance is in arrears. I was told Absa tried contacting me, but they couldn’t get hold of me. Quite strange as I do not have one email or message on my phone that they tried contacting me. I’ll happily share proof of this. On 12/02/2021 I sent Absa home loans an email regarding my accounts, as I type this on 14/03, NO ONE from Absa have responded, but this horrible financial institution is quick to treat you like a ******** and bully. I asked to stop my debit orders, as Absa charges obscene interest for failed debit orders, and I was told I can’t stop them.
I have even contacted the ombuds to help me with my grievances. I’ve posted how Absa committed ***** on my name last year. It seems Absa does not care about any of their clients or their circumstances. I’m not asking for handouts, I’m asking for help. Put my accounts on hold, leave the accounts and let me pay what I can. There are so many options. This is one disgusting bank. The moment I am employed and able I will remove every single account from this bully of a bank and move to Capitec.
