Delaying my death clain
I submitted all documents for death claim yesterday and I continue to receive tons of automated text messages requesting for documents that I have already shared. Yesterday I received a call from the claim assessor/evaluator by the name of Peter and requested that I send/share both my ID and the deceased ID and I immediately did that – I was again asked to send a clearer copy which I did earlier today. The text messages I’m receiving from early this morning until now are confusing and really frustrating. I’m losing valuable time to prepare and arrange for the funeral due to this inconvenience and lack of clear communication and process from your end. if there’s no favourable feedback/outcome from your end by 17:00 today 11/10/23 I will be escalating the issue to the office of the Ombud.
Thank you very much for getting back to me.
I just received notification that my claim was approved and subsequently received an amount of R55 804 77 in my account.
The one challenge/concern I have is that the policy (on my ABSA banking app) showed that the amount due for payment as R57 881 25, I just need to understand please what happened to R2 076 48 if you can advise/assist on that one.
