Delay in a loan on homeloan
On Monday,06 January 2020,i went in ABSA Clearwater branch,to apply for a loan on my Home Loan Account(which is at ABSA Bank).I was seen by the consultant ,who was very helpful, and was advised to take a multi plan to retain current interest rate(very helpful & appreciated). I was then duly requested to fill documents for me and my wife and send statutory copies of documents required for the loan to proceed.I was then told by consultant documents would be submitted to Homeloan consultant, and i would get a call today. So happens i was in the mall yesterday and did a follow up at the bank,i was told by the consultant she was very busy and did not submit on the system.I then asked to speak to the Branch Manager(BM),who did not see me,but sent the same consultant ,who apologized, and said she would do it yesterday. What amazes me is that today,it is now 14H20 and no calls form ABSA. Also the bank sits with documents for two days before processing it,and the BM would have the decency to hear out a customer. Context:- I have been with ABSA for 30 years now(from United Bank Days),have my car financed with them,my house financed with them, have credit cards and cheque account with them. The property financed through them in August 2015,which i put down R300 000,00 deposit and a bond for R800 000,00. The way i understand it,is would be in the best interests for ABSA to offer a loan,as i would be using the money to maintain and upgrade their asset(indirectly) and furthermore make money out of me for the next 20 years. To add the property is also covered under ABSA insurance through the body corporate and has had evaluation last year. So cant understand what bureaucracy is going on with ABSA in either advising me the loan is going to be processed or not. I might as well look for another homeloan company seeing ABSA does not value their customers.
