Deceased Estates Absa - Horrible Service
As an absa client of many years, Deceased Estates at Absa is the worst service I have ever received from a bank. They are *********** and do not respond to questions asked by their clients. I have been issued with a Letter of Authority by the Master of The High Court to take control of my late father's estate on 8 April 2024.
On the very same day , I went to the Pier 14 branch of Absa Bank to submit all the required documents for them to send it on to National Deceased Estates of Absa. My late father had two Absa accounts with funds in it which has to be transferred to my Absa account. All the accounts are Absa accounts, and as such, the transfer of the funds is an internal transfer. That should surely not be difficult to finalise in my view. It is now just about 8 weeks later, and I am still waiting for the funds to be transferred. I have called them 3 times over this time and numerous unanswered e-mails to enquire when the transfer will be done. The only feedback was from their call centre 2 weeks ago (was on hold for 15 minutes) to say that the FICA process is still in progress.
I called again today and they said it's still in FICA! How is this possible!! I need to escalate this as there is no way absa can drop the ball like this.
