DECEASED ESTATE DEPARTMENT

I manage deceased estates. Since early March, we have been trying to get one bank statement out of Absa. With a small estate (called "Under Master's directions"), when you apply for the letter of executorship, you to provide the Master of the High Court with a statement showing to account number and current balance. This then gets captured onto the letter of executorship. We supp**** all the institutions with a letter from the Master authorising us to get the information. All the other institutions responded within a week.

I have followed up several times but get no response. We are not asking for money to be paid out - just a simple statement showing a few thousand Rand.
