Debitting an old acoount, bank charges are now R10,000 and counting!!!

I have purchased a car financed by avaf and it was paid for by my partner

We requested change of banking details from Standard bank to Absa account sometime September 2019.

Absa vehicle finance has been debiting the incorrect account (Standard bank ) since then till 2020/10/28.

This accumulated bank charges of R10288.24 on the Standard bank account

Below are Standard bank account details

Account no : *** Account type :Current account Account holder Mabaso N.A

What I would like to verify is, because avaf was getting paid manually, how come they still continued to debit the above account and why was it necessary for avaf to use the standard bank account which was clearly changed.

Kindly investigate this and provide me with plan of action and or recourse at least.
