Debit order still runs, even after closing account

Many many months ago I closed my check account due to the fact that it was a liability. Yet the ABSA rewards debt order still goes through every month, running up a credit card bill. Has ABSA no sense that if an account is closed, the stupid privileges also needs to go???/
