Debit order chaos

I have an Absa Instant life insurance policy.

It seems they have a problem deducting premium on the selected dates. My debit order date used to be on the 22nd every month. My salary gets paid into my account on the 22nd.

But the debit order every month went through early on the 22nd before funds are paid into the account, causing me a lot of bank penalties. So ai changed the debit order date online on your website to the 23rd.

So it happened yet again that the money was deducted on the 22nd. Again incurring me unnecessary banking fees. What I don't understand is that on the website under my details it clearly shows my debit order date as the 23rd and NOT the 22nd.

Who is responsible for the banking penalties for an unpaid debit order that was deducted on the wrong date as this was not my fault.

Also it is real stupid that you can't (according to your agent) make an EFT or any other payment except by debit order. Even to correct an unpaid debit order you are not even allowed to pay in the money anywhere.

This is why I hate debit orders because of institutions like this one who do not honour the agreement.
