ABSA is refusing to reverse a debit order from Capitec and their reason I qoute is "Dear Senate
Thank you for your email.Kindly note that we are unable to reverse a DC Debit Order as this is a DebiCheck debit order, for these type of debit orders you will need to contact the third party in this regard." My reason for the reversal is the debit order amount is different, it has increased with an amount of R1200.00. With the lockdown my income has been affected, I didn't budget for the additional R1200.00 off my income. YET ABSA'S DEBICHECK DICLAIMER IS "Any changes to that DebiCheck debit order for example a different payment date or a different amount, must be accepted by you first before your bank makes the changes. Important: We need to have your cell phone number so that you get your DebiCheck verification requests. " I didn't authorise the debicheck debit order. I thought the debichecks are there to protect us, but it seems that Providers can still do as they please in our account.
Best regards,
