Death cover 72 months paid balloon pmt no death cover

My husband past away on 2 July 2021 due to covid. A vehicle was purchased in 2014. Never was an instalment missed. After 72 months the balloon payment started. He always paid the cover for death etc. When I notified Absa about his death the informed me no death cover on the balloon cover. He confirmed death cover and paid for the cover for 72 months, how can you now on the balloon payment delete the death cover? We are looking everything we have because companies are looking for ANY reason not to pay. Its R35000 outstanding but still Absa wanted the funds or take the car back.
