death claim
I'd like to express how disappointed i am with ABSA. My mother died December 2020 the 18th. went to claim for her absa flexi save death claim which is what they call condolences from them (ABSA), I was told i needed to submit a letter of authority for that claim. I then went to apply for it at the masters of high court and got it two years later, after submitting all that i was to wait 7 days come back and check so that i can submit a bank account of my choice of where i want the money to be paid to. then a branch in cosmo city assisted with the process, yet the branch in Pretoria CBD said to me that i don't have a waiting period. when i went to make a follow up with the branch in Northgate i was told I'll wait about three months for the money, how can they want so much from me and then be told i have to wait so long. Why must they ask me to give them bank statements of my choice then later to be told i will have to open an account for the money to be paid. i was told i'll need an account from ABSA which they call an estate account only if the money is more than R250 000. i mean we burried our mom 2 years ago and mind you there's still a positive balance in her bank account besides the death claim money. it is even written in their papers for claims that only if the balance is R250 000 or more then i'll have to open an estate account just for a R21000?
