6 Days of no service... and counting
I collected a replacement credit card from the Cresta branch in Johannesburg on Friday 16 August and provided FICA documentation as part of the process. 1. Upon leaving the branch I tested the card at the ATM, it didn't work 2. I went back inside and was told that the card would only be activated once the FICA process had been completed which normally takes 24 hours. This is an important piece of information the teller should have shared with me. 3. On Saturday I called again, to be told that the card would most definitely be activated in the 24-hour period. I waited until Saturday afternoon. The card still didn’t work. 4. I called on Sunday morning at which stage the card was still inactive. The operator told me there was nothing they could do for me on a Sunday. 5. I called again on Monday. All the operator was prepared to do was give me the email address for your FICA department so I could mail them, claiming they could do nothing else. 6. On Tuesday 20 August, the card had still not been activated. I sent an email to the ‘Group Customer Care’ email address as per the banking app and added the above information. I received an automated response saying that someone would contact me within 8 hours. 7. On 22 August no one had contacted me I sent another mail to the same address and received the same automated response.
