Good Day, We've been having an Absa Home Loan since 2006 and living in the same house eversince. In August 2018 I phoned Absa Homeloans with a complaint that my Bathroom-, Kitchen-, Corridor- as well as my one roomwall has water coming out from behind the paint causing bubbles. No response from them for a month or so until I phoned again. In January 2019 I received response that they will send someone to come an look at the problem. Plumbers(Not the Assessor) came and looked at the problem and said to me that it could be a burst pipe inside the wall. They phoned their office and the office said that we have to pay access of R500 for them just to open a small piece in the wall to see whether a burst pipe is the case. They took photos and they were gone. Again they were quiet until I had to follow up their response was that the photos was sent to Absa and they're waiting on response from them. Weeks went by and they called saying that the Assessor has been appointed again we must pay access for him to come and look. By now water damage has caused my walls to turn black and my Kitchen cupboards to rot and collapse. The assessor came again taking photos and with arrogance replying that this is negligence that they will not approve the claim. Eventually sending the photos to Absa who in June this year rep**** that they send us a cash settlement for +- R4000 and get our own plumber to fix the problem. Now my problem is the cost of a plumber fixing the pipes, cost of a builder breaking and replastering the walls, the cost of a painter, the cost of damage to my kitchen and who knows what else is damaged as I over the weekend have my plugs tripping connected to that area. We are paying a monthly fee towards the insurance. Why do we have to pay so much access for everytime they have come out a look at a problem isn't this included in the cover. This is the time we need Absa to come through for us.
