credit record not updated

ive been on the phone for more than 30 minutes holding for recovery department as ive been told by call centre my account is on recovery however i finished paying it in september last year?? why is my credit report not updated even now?? it still says I owe absa loan? i need this sorted out asap as my name is looking bad already. I don't owe absa loan , i was issued with a payed up letter so why is my record not updated?
