Credit cards - Do not use when travelling

I have recently traveled to North Western parts of Africa and upon arrival at the hotel i provided my Absa Gold credit card so that they can take my deposit and reservation amount from this card however upon departure i decided that i wanted to use a different card to pay for my entire stay and extra's. The delightful receptionist then provided me with proof that the pre-authorised amount on the Absa card is now cancelled and or reversed WHICH ABSA COULD CONFIRM IS "hanging" somewhere but they need authorisation from the hotel's bank to release the funds??? *** is that? They did their part to reverse the funds back to my card which is all the info they had and i am now back home needing to contact them to release the funds which they already refunded??? How is it that i called them to release he funds tell them why and how this happened how is this not enough how is the cancellation receipt i was provided with and provided ABSA with and the "hanging" receipt not enough? This is ridicule and words i cannot use on here bs service man only a stupid bank would have wack processes or lack service like actually helping the clients. Pathetic service is why i have moved from ABSA Bank all other products and now this was the final staw for me i just sent in request for settlement without this "hanging funds which i need to close the card. The call centre agent was so rude and abrupt coloured woman named Zakiya whose name i had to ask cause she was full of insullence towards a client requesting clarity who needs to call across the continent to make their jobs easier? Pathetic. By the way my card has been activated for traveling for a certain period so i don't see the issue.
