credit card opened without my document

somewhere in july someone from absa called me offering me credit card of R10000.00 , they send an sms to say if I want the credit card I must go to absa branch in midrand with my id book , payslip , 3 months bank statement in order for them to activate my card , I didn't go . today I get a call from Mfc for insurance on my credit card , when I called the absa card division they told me that the card is been activated and I owe the R262.12 , how can they activate my card without my documentations ref num is :*** , for me is ***** cause they don't have my document yet they activate my
