Credit card in 1 2 3 (NOT)

I was doing online banking and saw on Absa's site a application for a credit card. I though, Ah let me try.

It was quick and easy; never did I know what UN professional people I'm dealing with.

I had an account with Absa since 1991.

Ok, 2 days after I app**** somebody phoned me with an quotation and that they would give me a R30 000 credit limit (I did not ask for that much) but suppressed was I and accepted the quote.

The guy said that they would send my card to me via their courier in the next two days. So it happened also. When I was talking to this guy he said I just have to have a copy of my South African ID and 3 Months pay slips. They send me that in an email also.

Two days later I received my card. I read the pamphlet that came with it. It said I must call a number to activate my card. I called and they said no no I must visit a Absa branch. WHY SAY PHONE A NUMBER IF YOU NOT GOING TO DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU ARE GOING TO DO???

Ok, so 2 days later I visited an Absa branch in Centurion. The Guy who helped me phoned the card division just to hear that they did not yet received my paper work. This guy promised me that he would phone me back and let me know wat’s going on (HE NEVER DID)

Ok, about 4 days later I visited another Absa branch but now in Alberton as I was there for a couple of weeks looking for a new place to live as my work is there. I told the lady what happened and se also phoned the card division witch she gave me the phone, the person on the other side said O no we did not receive your proof of address so there is a hold on the card. ONCE AGAIN NEVER DID THEY ASK FOR THIS!! Now what, I have to go all the way back to Centurion to get that. Luckily the lady who helped me said she will help and gave me forms to full in. So proof of address was done there and then. She loaded it up on the system and said that it would take 48 hours and she will phone me to let me know when to come in. (SHE NEVER DID)

So I gave them another 4 days. I went back to the bank again; the lady said that the credit card is on hold. She also phoned the card division and they said to her that it has to be approved by a team leader. This could take 3 days.

Ok another 5 days passed and I went back to the bank. Another lady helped me and also phoned the card division witch they said O no it's still pending and are still waiting for a team leader. She promised to phone me back, even took my number. (SHE NEVER DID)

So today the 14th of January I went to the bank again. This time the lady said that the card is been closed. She phoned the card division and they said that the declined my request for credit card due to the fact that I would not be able to make installment payments on it. I gave the card to the lady and instructed her to cut them up and she did.

This cat and mouse game started the 20th of December and ended today the 14th of January.

Now I ask, I earn between R20 000 and R25 000 a month (THIS IS TAKE HOME PAY)

How will I not be able to repay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The funny thing is they already send me 2 statements for card and monthly fees!

(I WANT TO SEE IF THEY TAKE ANY MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT)

In all this did I never deal with the same person twice, always somebody new. They never called me back.

I WILL CLOSE MY ACCOUNT WITH ABSA!!!
