Credit Card handed over to Legal

I informed ABSA in January when I was not working and that I would start paying my accounts when I found employment. All divisions that I have accounts with were individually informed and documentation was sent to all as requested. When I started working again I started paying on my accounts including that of my credit card account. My private banker informed me the Friday before my account was handed over to legal that is was not in legal but just in a delinquent status. I was further informed by my private banker not to make a large deposit into the account as it was possible that I would not have access to my funds. My budget only allowed me to make a R1000 payment into my account on a monthly basis which I did from the end of May. At the end of August (with absolutely no correspondence from ABSA) I was abruptly handed over to Legal and my account was closed. The Credit Card department insist that they tried to make contact with me, but have been unable to produce any proof of such attempts over the past 3 months. I have also been informed that once ABSA has decided to hand over my account to Legal it cannot be reversed. I now have to sit with a negative listing on ITC
