Credit card delivered to reception

Today, I lost what little faith I had in Absa. My new credit card was delivered to the reception area of our building - no proof of identification requested whatsoever. If it wasn't for our ethical receptionist, who knows in whose hands my card could have fallen.

When I spoke to UTi earlier in the week, I explicitly asked for the card to be delivered when I would be personally available to sign for it. I find this completely unacceptable!! When my husband's credit card was delivered by his bank (fortunately not Absa), I had to produce certified copies of both our ID's, as well as a letter from him giving me permission to sign for acceptance on his behalf.

With ***** being a daily problem in our country, I would expect my bank to take as many precautions as possible to prevent their customers falling prey.

Disgusted and will be moving all of my accounts as a result of this.
