Credit card declined

Since Sunday me and my spouse have problems to do credit card payments at cashiers. The cashiers informed us that the credit cards were declined. What an embarrassment with customers in the queue to be informed that your card is declined! My assumption was that it must be a system error. On Monday I did contact Credit Card division and was informed it was a system problem.

I did contact Absa Action line on Tuesday. I was informed that I need to go to a Absa branch to reset the credit cards. Apparently thousands of ABSA credit card holders are affected. I received no communication by sms with regard to the matter. This option is inconvenient and unacceptable. Why does Absa not fix the system error? Thousand of credit card holders need to go to branches to reset their credit cards.

It seems that Absa credit cards have be compromised...
