Covid 19 distress vs ABSA Finance

Good morning,

Today I write with email with a heavy heart under under servere stress. Yes we know Absa is a business and they have a mandate, I also would like to think they know how most people were affected by Covid 19 and the current economic state, but to them it seems like they don’t really care, I lost my job last year following retrenchments in the company I was working for which reaulted in me missing some payments and since then I have been in contact with them to try and make arrangements for the areas with no success.

I started working about 2 months ago and since then have been paying the instalments for my vehicle. Bearing in mind that I have tried calling and making arrangements to no success, I tried calling and emailing I was told that due to the fact that my account shows its under debt review they can’t assist me and I tried changing debit order states I was told I cannot be assisted, as they can’t debit directly on my account, which was alarming as for the past 2 years or more after I had problems with my debt councillor not paying. Following that, Absa has been debiting straight from my account, I was then told to get another councillor who can negotiate on my behalf, after several calls I was given a 011 501… number and 011 393 number, which I have tried calling almost every day and not getting through, until last week when someone called advising me they are at my home to take the car, and I can’t negotiate or make any arrangements now, is this how it works, I've acknowledged that I’m behind due to losing my job from a world wide "known pandemic", my question is... does Absa not take such into consideration or are they too oblivious to give us service not to our individual challenges but the pandemic challenge we seen from 2020- are they all about the money and don’t even care about everything else?

I’ve been asking to make an arrangement but no one assisted me, now they see it convenient to come and just repossess the car. I have my brother who is financed with MFC Nedbank went through a similar situation and I’m pleased as to how Nedbank could help and not run for fetching the car as the solution - Nedbank managed to spread the short fall over the remaining term of finance.

I’m asking for assistance regarding this solution, as I have recently secured employment and will be able to pay my instalments, however I’m not getting any assistance in making arrangements for my vehicle which I have been faithfully paying for 3 years prior to the pandemic.

Can I get advise, I'm available on this mail address:***
