I took out Car Insurance with Virgin Insurance on the 1st of February 2017. Consultant name was Nompumelelo. She explained all the benefits the policy has, including the one where I will be provided with a Rental Vehicle, if (1) My car had a mechanical breakdown or (2) My car had to go in for a service.

I then signed up with them. Waited a full month for my policy documents to arrive, which never did. On the 9th of March 2017, I called their Call Centre and spoke to Fiaz Alley. At first he tried to defend the company saying the documents were sent through. After explaining to him in clear English, he then resent the documents to me. Via e mail. I finally had a copy of my Policy Document.

On the 13th of March 2017, I had to take my car in for a Suspension Do. I then called Virgin Insurance, based on what the Call Centre Agent had told me. I spoke to Lwazi and to my surprise he then told me that I need to pay R1200.00.

I informed him that this information was never disclosed to me during the sales call. He hwoever tried to defend the Call centre agent saying that this information gets disclosed during the call. He then put me through to a Kegan Govender who appears to be the manager. I also relayed the store to him, purposefully withholding information from a client for the sake of signing up that client. He then escalated the matter to Thapiwe Dube, who appeared to be helpful.

She informed me that they will have to listen to transcripts of the call before arriving at a decision. Later on on Monday the 13 th, I was again called by Kegan Govender, informing me that Thapiwe has instructed him to make an offer to me: "They are willing to refund the Car Hire option on my premium that was paid". Now it appears that she is dodging the bullet and delegating authority.

On Tuesday the 14th I again called Thapiwe and wanted a status update on my complaint. She then said to me that she had infact listened to the tape / gone through the transcripts and nowhere does the agent indicate to me that I will be expected to pay R 1200.00 for car hire. However, someone else is still listening to the tape and she will revert back to me befor 14:00.

She then calls me before 14:00 and tells that they have reached a verdict. They will not pay / or refund me my premium, which was offered to be based on lies by their agent. Every Car Rental Agency has their own standard Terms and Conditions and I was supposed to have smelt or imagined that they will expect me to pay R 1200.00.

I demanded an immediate cancellation of this policy and a full refund of my premium. Clearly no services WERE RENDERED TO ME AND THOSE THAT WERE SOLD TO ME APPEAR TO BE A LIE.

However, Nicola Renniepeel (Product Advisor) and Usha Nadesan ( Chief Unnderwriter AIG) want to thank me for having blatantly exposed their Policy Document as being wrongly worded. They do admit that their wording is broad ie " Standard Terms and Conditions for Car Rental Agencies", but they do not accept liability for their stupidity.

How else am I supposed to smell that I need to pay R1200.00?

What happened between the cooling off period that the agent sold to me, and the new one that they have in their office?

They do admit that I have indicated that their policy is wrongly worded, but that is my problem. They accept no liability for that. None whasoever.

For me to receive my policy documents, I had to literally call them and request them. Maybe the documents were purposefully withheld by them so that they can always defend themselves when @#$% hits the fan

NEVER EVER IN YOUR LIFE TRUST VIRGIN INSURANCE. A BUNCH OF *********** ***** AND SPINELESS MANAGERS.

UNLESS IF YOU HATE YOUR MONEY
